There's a lot of new construction home buyers, but not a lot of quick move in homes for sale. What's a buyer anxious to move to Florida to do?
As your Realtor, I'd suggest broadening your options and looking at homes for sale in established neighborhoods. A good condition older resale home can have benefits like lower density, larger lot sizes, lower fees, and mature landscaping and trees.
Here's a short list of some areas you may want to consider:
Calusa Lakes: This golfing community has a central location to beaches and shopping, with towering trees and larger home sites. Prices start in the high $300,000's, and golf membership is not included. More information: click here
Mission Estates: Next door to Calusa Lakes, here there is also no required golf membership, with winding neighborhood streets. Home prices start in the low $400,000's. More information: click here
Laurel Woodlands: Near the new Sarasota Memorial Hospital campus on Laurel Road, homes here have pools or room for a pool, and low HOA fees. Prices start in the high $300,000's. More information: click here

Sorrento East: Great location midway between Sarasota and Venice, with easy access to Nokomis Beach. 1/4 acre home sites provide lots of room for pools. More information: click here

Venetia: Excellent Venice location. Most homes were built in the late 90's and early 2000's with open floor plans. There is an active tennis club and nicely sized community pool. Amenities are not quite resort style as you find in manyt new home communities, but there's no CDD and low HOA fees. More information: click here
