I see negative posts about home builders on various social media. Most if not all of these posts are misinformed.

In my market area, new construction homes have at least 50 inspections by the county, from pouring the slab foundation to occupancy.

New homes today are more energy efficient, and are better able to withstand storms, than older homes.

There are websites and online groups who complain about builders, but in my experience, these people just like to complain. Your new construction home will come with a builder warranty. I also recommend that you hire a home inspector that is a licensed contractor (not a former fireman or car sales person) before closing on your new home.
