I've been watching the development of a parcel of land just east of I-75, north of Laurel Road. I decided to take my drone to get a better look.
Rustic Road development, north of Laurel Road and east of I-75 in North Venice
From what I can tell from tax records, the cleared land in my photo above is about 90 acres. The City of Venice has approved preliminary plats for 129 acres for Rustic Road North, plus another two parcels, that would eventually add about 700 total new homes to this area of North Venice.
There are also proposals to extend Lorraine Road south to Laurel Road. This may give some clues about future home builders here. Right now Lorraine Road terminates at the intersection of Clark Road, across from Skye Ranch, a Taylor Morrison development. There are also plans for Neal Communities to build an area called Palmer Ranch East, which would be east of I-75 and Talon Preserve, near Neal's Grand Place community.
Basically, most of these large tracts of land will see residential development in the next decade.
