FINANCING FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS
Obtaining a mortgage if you are an international buyer is a bit different than for a US citizen.
You do not have to pay any special taxes or fees to obtain a mortgage.
You may be asked for a minimum of 20% down payment for a single family home, and 30% down for a condo. Some banks and lenders also require you open and maintain a deposit account with them, although more recently the major lenders are starting to relax their downpayment requirements.
